창세기 7장 전체 흐름 한 줄 요약
7:1–5 : “Go in… / I have seen… / after seven days” 명령–근거–시간표가 한 번에 잠긴다
7:6–12 : “when… overflowed / were broken up / rain fell upon” 사건이 ‘시간-열림-쏟아짐’으로 가속된다
7:13–16 : “In the selfsame day… / as… commanded / the Lord shut him in” دخول(진입)과 봉인이 같은 날 완성된다

▸ 창세기 7:1–5 — 방주로의 초대: 명령과 근거, 그리고 유예
Genesis 7:1 — “just before me” 기준이 사람 앞에서 하나님 앞으로 이동한다
And the Lord said… / Go in thou… / for thee I have seen just before me
→ thou/thy/thee가 한 절에 모여 “너를 지목한다”는 긴장감을 만든다. before me가 평가의 무대를 바꾸며, I have seen(현재완료)이 “판정의 지속”을 남긴다.
Genesis 7:2–3 — “seven and seven / two and two” 숫자가 ‘생존’이 아니라 ‘지속’을 말한다

→ 반복 수량이 리듬이 되어 규칙을 외우게 만든다. that seed may be saved 목적절이 ‘왜 그렇게까지’의 이유를 문장 끝에서 회수한다.
Genesis 7:4 — “after seven days… forty days and forty nights” 시간표가 공포보다 준비를 만든다
after seven days / I will rain… forty days and forty nights / I will destroy…
→ I will의 반복이 ‘비’와 ‘멸함’을 분리해 또렷하게 한다. days and nights 병렬이 “끊김 없는 기간”을 촉각처럼 만든다.
Genesis 7:5 — “did all things” 가장 짧은 문장으로 순종을 결산하다
And Noe did all things which the Lord had commanded him
→ had commanded(과거완료) → did(과거)로 “말씀 선행-응답 후행” 질서가 시제로 박힌다. all things가 디테일을 생략하면서도 예외를 봉쇄한다.
▸ 창세기 7:6–12 — 홍수의 가속: 시간 접속사 + 열림 + 내림
Genesis 7:6–7 — “when… overflowed / because of” 이유가 붙어 ‘피난’이 현실이 된다

→ when이 사건의 교차점을 찍고, because of가 “왜 들어갔는가”를 명사구로 단단히 고정한다.
Genesis 7:8–10 — “Two and two… after the seven days were passed” 질서와 시간의 문법
Two and two went in… / after the seven days were passed
→ 문두 수량(two and two)이 “혼돈이 아니라 규칙”을 선포한다. were passed 수동은 기다림의 무게를 키우며, 그 뒤에 overflowed가 확정처럼 떨어진다.
Genesis 7:11–12 — “were broken up / were opened / rain fell upon” 아래와 위가 동시에 열린다

→ 연속 수동태가 ‘불가항력’을 만든다. great deep(아래)–heaven(위) 병렬이 스케일을 찢어 놓고, upon이 장중한 압력을 유지한다.
▸ 창세기 7:13–16 — دخول과 봉인: “그날”의 결정
Genesis 7:13 — “In the selfsame day” 지연을 잘라 내는 강조어
In the selfsame day… went into the ark
→ selfsame이 “바로 그날”을 과잉 없이 강조한다. 긴 이름 나열은 ‘포함 범위’를 구조로 증명한다.
Genesis 7:14–15 — “according to its kind / wherein was the breath of life” 분류와 정의

→ 같은 구(according to…) 반복이 질서를 세우고, wherein이 “생명이 무엇인지”를 정의처럼 붙잡는다.
Genesis 7:16 — “the Lord shut him in” 문이 닫히며 선택지가 사라진다
as God had commanded him / and the Lord shut him in on the outside
→ as + 과거완료가 “말씀과 동일한 방식”을 고정한다. shut him in이 봉인/보호/단절을 동시에 담고, on the outside가 주도권이 인간 밖에 있음을 보여 준다.
▸ 창세기 7:17–18 — 물이 주어가 되는 장: 증가–부양–운반
Genesis 7:17 — “waters increased / lifted up… on high” 방주가 ‘올라간’ 게 아니라 ‘올려진다’

→ 무생물 주어(waters)가 힘의 방향을 결정한다. from the earth가 ‘분리’의 출발점을 못 박는다.
Genesis 7:18 — “overflowed exceedingly / was carried” 부사와 수동태가 압도를 완성한다
overflowed exceedingly / filled all… / the ark was carried upon the waters
→ exceedingly 한 단어가 스케일을 폭발시키고, was carried 수동태가 방주의 무력함(또는 맡겨짐)을 강조한다. 콜론 연쇄가 결과를 단계적으로 굳힌다.
▸ 창세기 7:19–24 — 전면성의 결론: 덮임–죽음–남음–기간
Genesis 7:19–20 — “beyond measure / fifteen cubits” 감각(무한)과 기록(수치)이 함께 온다

→ beyond measure가 한계를 지우고, fifteen cubits가 그 무한을 다시 ‘증거’로 찍는다. which it covered 관계절이 사실을 한 번 더 고정한다.
Genesis 7:21–22 — “all flesh… died / wherein there is” 정의 후 결론, 그리고 현재형

→ all이 부정문 없이 예외를 닫는다. there is 현재형이 “생명의 정의는 지금도 유효”라는 느낌을 남긴 뒤, died 단어 하나로 결론을 내린다.
Genesis 7:23 — “Noe only remained” only가 남기는 마지막 선
Noe only remained, and they that were with him in the ark
→ only가 선택지를 제거하고 ‘남음’을 경계선처럼 그린다. those who(=they that) 구조가 남음을 개인이 아니라 동행으로 확장한다.
Genesis 7:24 — “a hundred and fifty days” 긴 시간의 압력이 마침표처럼 찍힌다

→ 단문이 오히려 무겁다. 마지막에 기간을 배치해 문장이 끝나면서도 ‘끝나지 않는 체감’을 남긴다.
